Fresh market

We supply carrots, leek, broccoli, celeriac, cauliflower, lettuce, Belgian endive, green and red cabbage to the fresh market. This amounts to about 50,000 tons of fresh vegetables.  We mainly supply these vegetables to supermarkets, mass catering, retailers and wholesalers.

Fresh, fresher... Verduyn!

The fresh market carrots are washed (20 tons/hour) and packed (30 tons/hour) in Kortemark. This is all done fully automatically, with brush washers and optical sorting cameras. Verduyn chills and stocks the carrots using hydrocooling (1°C) in water tanks with a storage capacity of about 100 tons. Then everything is automatically weighed, packed and loaded on pallets, using the latest technology. We pack for our own brand as well as for retailers' brands. After production, all the pallets are dispatched to our cold store (1°C) where they wait to be shipped.

The Verduyn Group has a purchasing, sales and forwarding office in Arras (Wancourt), France. Here we also have our own refrigeration/storage unit for 11,000 crates. In Waremme (Belgium), in the famous growing area of Haspengouw, we also have our own 9,000-crate refrigerated storage area.
